AIR ROCKETS - PRACTICE FLIGHTS

May 12, 2022 - After finishing our STEM Rocket project using paper and straws, we moved up to launching rockets using an air-powered launcher that was built using PVC pipes and a sprinkler head.
Students built their paper rockets rolled with pipes instead of pencils like we did with straw rockets. They are encouraged to use different fin types to build aerodynamic rockets. Finally, they personalized their rockets with cool names. The results were incredible as the rockets flew over 200 ft. in the air. However, there were rockets that disintegrate in mid-flight because they weren't built well.
Using what we've experienced from building and launching rockets, we will build our final rocket to enter into the class "Flying Rockets Challenge" next week. It was a lot of fun building and launching rockets.
