"O-CHADS" GEYSER - 5 points

While spending the Winter Break at Yosemite, the Omega Chads Boys discovered an active geyser (a hot spring of boiling water, shooting a tall column of water and steam into the air at certain times). Yosemite officials named the geyser "O-Chads" for their discovery. The eruptions of this "O-Chads" geyser are very predictable. Below are the last five eruptions:
1. at 12:00 P.M. for five minutes
2. at 12:50 P.M. for six minutes
3. at 1:44 P.M. for seven minutes
4. at 2:42 P.M. for eight minutes
5. at 3:44 P.M. for nine minutes

Can you calculate what time the next eruption will be?
(Hint: There is a formula. Look for patterns of the duration and time.)

ANSWER: 
"O-Chads" geyser next eruption will be at:
​4:50 P.M. for 10 minutes.
The formula used to figure out the time until the next eruption is 4D + 30 minutes, where D is the duration of the last eruption. So...
4 x 9 + 30 = 66 mins or 1:06. Therefore 3:44 + 1:06 = 4:50.
